What is a Stephen Ministry?
A Stephen Ministry is an organized way for congregations to deepen and expand the amount of caring ministry they can offer, by bringing together and fully training a team of local members to assist the pastors in providing that important care.
Stephen Ministers are laypeople, i.e., congregation members—who receive specialized Christian Caregiving Training to provide one-to-one, confidential, trustworthy, Christ-centered, attentive care and support to people who are experiencing the loss of a loved one, illness, facing the death of a loved one, relationship problems, temptations, separation from loved ones, loneliness, and many others.
